FAQ
When should I order my cake? As a general rule, we suggest you book at least two months in advance for a wedding cake and two weeks in advance for a celebration cake, but we sometimes can accommodate last minute orders. Call us to schedule an appointment.
What cake flavors do you offer? Our basic cake flavors are chocolate, vanilla, white almond, strawberry, yellow, mint chocolate and lemon. Our specialty flavors are carrot, oreo, and coconut.
How do I order a cake? If you are interested in ordering a cake from us, please give us a call or e-mail us. Couture Cakes books up quickly so please do not hesitate reserving your date.
How much can I expect to pay for a cake? Our cake prices start at $2.50 per serving for sheet cakes, $3.00 per serving for tiered buttercream cakes, $4.00 per serving for fondant cakes, and $5.00 per serving for 3D/carved cakes. The content and decoration of the cake along with the serving amounts determines the final price. Each of our cakes is an individual work of art and we will work with you and your budget to create a wonderful experience for your occasion, so give us a call.
What forms of payment do you accept? We accept debit/credit cards, personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks, and cash. If paying by personal check, please pay at least 2 weeks in advance.
What is your payment policy? For wedding and larger cakes(100 or more servings), we require a 30% deposit one month before the actual date you need your cake. The remainder of your balance is due two weeks before your event date. If you book your cake with less than two weeks to spare, full payment is due upon ordering. For smaller cakes, a 30% deposit is due two weeks before your event date and the remainder is due upon delivery.
Do you deliver? Yes. Our delivery is free within the Nashville area. Outside of Nashville, there is a nominal fee.
Do you offer tastings? Yes, we offer tastings for wedding cakes and large celebration cakes (100 or more servings). Three cake flavors and 2 icing flavors per tasting. A maximum of four people may attend the tasting. If you would like to taste more than the initial 3 flavors, you are welcome to order a sampler for $20.00.
Do you ship your cakes? No. Since your cake cannot be guaranteed to arrive in one piece, our cakes are not available to be shipped. However, long distance delivery in the southern states can be arranged if scheduling permits and for an additional fee.
Can you accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions? No. While many of our recipes do not contain nuts, they are prepared in a kitchen where nuts have been used. If you have a severe nut allergy we cannot guarantee that your cake will not have traces of nuts in it. At this time, we do not prepare cakes without dairy, eggs, or sugar.
What about mini cakes? Mini versions of cakes are a wonderful addition to any occasion. They are a little present for each of your guests. Although beautiful, they are a labor intensive undertaking to create. Rather than one large cake, we have to assemble and decorate multiple little cakes with decorations that are much smaller and more tedious to create than the larger cakes. Due to all the extra labor involved, mini cakes start at $8.00 per cake with a minimum order of ten cakes.
Doesn't fondant taste terrible? All fondants are not created equal. There are brands out there that do taste terrible, but we use a brand called "Fondx" that tastes just like buttercream. You will love it!!
Can we have more than one cake flavor in our cake or does it have to all be the same? Please feel free to choose any cake combination you desire. We do not limit you to one flavor for your whole cake. If you have multiple flavors in your cake, you may want to order more servings since your guests may be inclined to sample more than one flavor.
